saturday eye candy [argenta market]

Oh friends, don’t you love spring? I do, especially when a Saturday falls together so perfectly…starting with beautiful weather, just a couple of days after a really good rain to knock the pollen off of everything.

Seriously, if it wasn’t for the pollen I could go all unicorns and rainbows over spring and stay in it forever. I could be truly obnoxious. It’s the pollen that keeps me grounded. We can’t be giddy all the time, now can we?

Ok, maybe we could. At least all the time on Saturdays, if every Saturday was our very own Argenta Market’s anniversary. I do adore the Argenta Market. Because besides being right in downtown NLR, and supporting local farmers by carrying their products – well, it’s just so darn cute. I know. I’m exceptionally shallow today. But come on! The labeling alone! ADORABLE.

And then there’s the beautiful, farm fresh veggies, and goodies like local honey and gorgeous homemade soaps. For their anniversary party, Argenta Market had invited a bunch of vendors in to share samples. We tried elk sausage, soups and dips, ice cream and homemade popsicles.

It was extra fun to look at these beautiful soaps from Southern Girl Soapery (Facebook) because they are made by a fellow Arkansas blogger, Stephanie Hamling. Aren’t they gorgeous? Her honey soap uses K-Bee honey from right here in Sherwood.

Everything we tried and tasted that day was scrumptious – yes, even the elk – but our absolute favorite were the popsicles from LePops. I tried strawberry basil – out of this world, refreshing and perfect for a hot day. My kids favorite was the salted caramel – rich and creamy. They liked the samples so much they used their own money to buy whole pops. Which might also have been their breakfast…

Such a fun Saturday morning – everywhere you turn, beauty to look at, taste, and touch. I’m so glad it’s only spring, with a summer full of Saturdays ahead…
