under the influence

I think we all know by now that my husband is taking over the internets, one website at a time.  And people, I have finally succumbed.  He’s very persuasive.

What I mean exactly is that many months ago he set me up a tumblr site (I’m really not sure that’s the proper terminology. They’re also called tumblelogs, but really?  That’s such an awkward word. I mean, when are we going to give up on hooking all this stuff to the already unbelievable word blog.  As much as I’m a fan of the actual thing, I can’t stand the word.  Sounds like I’m horking up my breakfast.)

I rolled my eyes.  I told him I did not need a tumblr. Why was he wasting his time setting one up for me? All I want to do is write, on my own blog.  Sporadically.  I have no room in my life for multiple sites.

Um, until now.

It finally occurred to me that this was the place that I could throw all those wonderful things I read and see on the internets and want to share with you but then I also have this funny story to share or oh just one more thing about the lemonade and surely you can see the problem.  It’s like there’s always this tension between wanting to show you something great or writing my own little thing.  By the time I link and observe wittily about someone else’s content, well, I’m too done with it all to post any of my own.

Tumblr may just be my answer. Right now, I’m loving it.  I can’t believe how much I love it. So much that I may have to apologize to a certain dude for my attitude…

So, here it is, my new little corner of the internets – dramatically inspiring: art of all kinds – and I hope you enjoy the snippets. Not my own stuff, but other people’s that I find interesting or beautiful or funny or inspiring.  If you especially like an entry, there’s always a link back to the original site, so you can find out more.  I’ve put it over there in my sidebar, or you can always subscribe.  What are you waiting for?  Come on over!
