I have to admit, I am – a little bit.

Usually, we go to the beach and blog awayAnnoyingly so, even.  We persevere through non-existent or barely there internet connections.  We report on beach conditions. Usually, I go to the beach and kind of catch up.

Not so this year. Even with internet connections that were great.  Wi-fi on the sand.  I have no excuse. Chalk it up to intense relaxing this year, I guess. No new additions to the family to shake things up.

And now that we’re back, I’m finding it hard to know quite were to begin.  So this is my rather feeble attempt: posting the rest of the pics from the trip down. We drove to Mobile and spent the night.  Apparently some negotiation went on next to the hotel pool.

The next morning we decided to stop by the USS Alabama and see the sights.

setting out

We were excited!

I got a little obsessed with all the colorful vintage automobiles.

And the boys climbed and rang and explored.  And maybe pretended they were Tom Cruise in Top Gun.  It’s a great boy place.

And then it got really hot, we opted out of the unairconditioned tour, waved goodbye to the ship and the flags and made our way into Florida, where we found our room ready (early!), moved in, and hit the beach by midafternoon.  We watched fireworks on the sand that night.  All in all, a great way to spend the fourth of July.

yes, I really love the picture of the flags. can you tell?
