back at the ranch

Well. I started a challenge and then took off for a long Texas weekend. Some people, foreseeing that the lack of ready internet access might cause a problem for attempting a daily blog post, might have prepared posts in advance, set to publish while they were gone. Still others might have made use of the access available to them, even if it involved going into the kid’s bedroom/office and rooting around behind the computer for the modem cable. And still others might have figured out how to post from their fancy schmancy iPhone.

None of those people are me. Although, I did spend about 45 minutes trying to figure out the phone thing.

But now we are back. And a long weekend in Texas helped me remember that there are some things I never posted about our last trip there…

flashback-copy

Last November, we went to Texas for Thanksgiving, which is different for us. Usually we go in December, taking the week from Christmas to New Year’s and spending it in Kerrville and San Antonio. But this last year we went earlier, and instead of Kerrville, we headed for the family ranch. Bryan’s grandmother lives there, just outside of Lampasas.

Who can’t love a place where even the simple dry grass is so beautiful…

So we’re going to go back to last November. Spend a little time in the country, feel the breeze wave past. Let our souls stretch out and breathe. Sound good? All right. See you tomorrow.
